Calling your bluff.

The strong winds earlier in the day blew all the smog away, so by the time of this photo in the early afternoon, the Bluff, and harbour mouth were clearly visible.

All set about with fever trees.

Detroit's beautiful picture in October, prompted this one.

"The Square", a small mall is in the building on the left. On either side of the pavement, and all the way down the center island of this road, are lined with rows of fever trees.

These are very pretty green thorn trees. Now, I know you say trees are usually green, but the difference is that the stems and branches are also a very pretty bright grass green.

For Sale.

Well? Wouldn't you also consider selling, if your pool kept escaping to play with the traffic!

This large pool was the result of heavy rains over the area recently.

Old and New.

This house would have been amongst the first of those built along Ridge Road, and was looking quite shabby. I was very pleased to see that it was getting a facelift.

The yellow and red area in the foreground is the helipad at Entabeni Hospital.

Who's your brother!

Big brother keeps a beady eye on a busy intersection.

These traffic cameras can be seen at some of the busy intersections, especially those know for high accident rates. Some have film in, and some don't, so before taking a chance, ask yourself "Do I feel lucky today?".

While these can be very effective in catching the culprits who are in the wrong place a the wrong time, they have been know to cause more problems than they solve.

For instance, the one where the road sign stated maximum speed of 80kph, but it would flash at anyone going over 60kph. The sudden effect of applying foot on brake would startle all the other motorists into doing the same and the concertina effect would have been funny if it weren't so dangerous. Max speed before this point was 120kph, and after this point was 100kph, so it was very confusing for everyone.

Take a seat.

I was surprised to find this little piece of paradise at the back of Heritage Market. A pathway which follows the path of a small stream, took us to this peaceful area with a few park benches.

This area is not there for the benefit of the people who work in the center, but I don't think many of them get much opportunity to use it.

Monkey Business.

When I first saw this young lady out of the corner of my eye, I thought she had some terrible skin disease or an awful deformity! It was only whenI pulled up next to her and the rest of the family, did I see the reason for her strange look. Holding on tightly, is her baby.

It's quite amazing how these little ones will detach themselves while mom is feeding. Then as soon as a dangerous human in a car stops close by, it's as though someone switched on the magnet. In one quick movement, baby is re-attached to mom.
