Sunday is the day for a breakfast run. For those not familiar with the concept - it is a very convenient excuse for bikers of all ages to take their bikes out for a spin. The roads are usually quiet, and if the weather is good, then riding gives a great sense of freedom.
This is Linga Lapa, at the Nottingham Road turnoff on the Midlands Meander. They are obviously very used to having all manner of bikers arrive any time from 9am, so they have a set breakfast menu - 2 eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoe, toast, coffee, tea and orange juice - all reasonably priced at R25.
Ok, this is not quite Durban, but at just over 100km, its close enough to make a really pleasant Sunday morning ride.
Through the Transkei
-
Up early again, cos everyone's itching to get through the Transkei. When
the bikes start revving, you know you'd better hurry, or you could be left
behind....
