The scenic route.

It's such a pleasure to drive along this road, especially if you catch the sun at the right time.

When travelling along the N3 from Hillcrest towards Durban, there are a few exits one can use to reach Kloof, and it all depends on how quickly you want to reach your destination. If you believe, as I do, that the whole of life is the destination, then you too would take the first and spend an extra minute or so, to enjoy this very pretty tree-lined road.

Almost looks like some roads in the Deep South, USA

I absolutely agree. And it is a lot less stressful too.

Another one like that in Durban is Manning Road, or at least it used to be, before I left the city in 1993 for Canada

I also love this road, in fact any road where trees overhang and dappled light falls on the road, lovely.

Hah nice pic, I'm from Kloof (although in the UK now) and used to drive along that road just about everyday - it is a nice stretch with the trees like that. If you want a cool drive, find Bridle Rd which winds up part of the Kloof drive, its a mega steep road, but offers good views of the gorge, and the road leading up to it (Kloof Falls Rd) is also lovely and green.
