Peter de Villiers is the current coach of ourSpringbok rugby team. Since the team won the match at the last minute on Saturday, it is fitting that the coach is honoured with this most beautiful chalk drawing at the local Keg and Trout.
Maryke is the lady who is responsible for this amazing piece of artwork we all get to admire at our Tuesday quiz evening. The manager said it took 3 hours for her to complete.
So, well done to Peter de Villiers and the Springbok team, and well done to Maryke for her artwork.

Through the Transkei

Up early again, cos everyone's itching to get through the Transkei. When
the bikes start revving, you know you'd better hurry, or you could be left
behind....

This is a really wonderful piece of work. Working with chalk is not easy, and to do this in three hours is the mark of a talented artist.
It has also been great to see how the early success of Peter de Villiers is changing the international perceptions of SA Rugby as being unwelcoming to non-whites. Breaking barriers through performance is often the best way to achieve lasting change, and here’s hoping that continues!
