The Comrades Marathon is a very popular annual event in Kwa-Zulu Natal, for both runners and spectators alike.
Each year people of all shapes and sizes, young and old, seasoned runners and first timers tackle the 90km run between Durban and Pietermaritzburg. Come rain or shine, the spectators are there in their thousands, lining the entire route between the two cities. They provide much needed encourment to the weary runners. Without them this event would not have quite the appeal it currently enjoys.
At approximately half way along the route, is this Wall of Honour, containing the names of all previous winners and many other finishers. This is also a popular spot to stop and enjoy the beautiful view of the Valley of 1000 hills.
