Bon Marche.

For many years this building housed a department store named "Bon Marche". This was at a time when nothing changed. For as long as I can remember, while growing up, every time I went to town, that store was there. Then suddenly it had another name, and the windows contained new, more modern items.

During the same period, Greenacres occupied the ornate, red brick building next door, and then suddenly it too was gone.

These days I no longer recognise the names on the doors, apart from the OK Bazaars, which seems to have hung on for quite some time now.

While change can be good, it's always a little sad when the places which were part of your childhood, no longer exist for you to visit.

With the downturn in the economy, there are so many empty storefronts in this small town that I am really concerned. Sometimes change can be a little disturbing!
