Unfortunately so many of these older buildings are now occupied by those in the low income bracket, which seems to go hand in hand with the demise of the building. So sad.

the bikes start revving, you know you'd better hurry, or you could be left
behind....

This picture really brings back memories. One of my first want-to-be-boyfriends lived in Berea Mansions while studying art at Tech. I used to drop by on the way home sometime and remember checking whether his light was on on the 4th floor. They were pretty flats but heavy and solid inside. I know that single women [people] don't wander about at night like I could at that time and it reminds me of a whole era... people & places ... growing up.
