Its a long way up

Kensington Heights is one of the largest blocks of flats in Durban, and is visible from more than 20km away.

Because it is on top of ridge all the flats have an amazing view of the whole of the city. Watch this space for a few examples.

Skywatch Friday

Some days the sky is just so beautiful I have to take a photo. I was rather pleasantly surprised to see there are so many others who feel the same way that Tom even started a blog to bring them all together.

Go fly a kite.

Not the greatest weather for the beach, but great for kite flying. This guy looks like he could quite easily take off at any moment.

Blue Lagoon Pier

The pier at the Blue Lagoon - the mouth of the Umgeni river. Not the best weather for swimming nor fishig but again makes for a more interesting picture.

Scottburgh Beach

Sundays are a good time for a leisurly drive down the coast. This time "Phat Boys" was the breakfast destination. Even though they had a long list of items which were not available due to a "really good long weekend", it was certainly worth the trip.

They'd run out of all the hard liquor, which we don't drink anyway - and certainly not for breakfast on a Sunday. In case you're wondering, we knew because, much to our amusement, they'd placed a list on each table, of the drinks we couldn't have.

The other side.

If you turn around from yesterday's post you will see the construction of the new soccer stadium in progress. The plan is to have this one completed in time for the 2010 Soccer World Cup, which South Africa will host.
